JAY ROBERTS RADIO SHOW
(8PM to 1AM)
I always said if I were to leave my home state of Minnesota, I would go somewhere warm, where it never snows and it's hot and humid year-round. So here I am in tropical northern Michigan. The palm trees are beautiful. Okay seriously this is God's country up here, and I am glad to be a part of the Real Rock family.
In a nutshell, I am a radio freak. It's in my blood, I've been on the radio since 1995. You'd think by now I would have a clue what I am doing! Oh well, I'll just pretend. I came from Minneapolis, MN where I worked at a couple legendary radio stations, classic rock KQRS (Did you see the movie Jingle All The Way? That was us!) and 93.7 The Edge, along with a few other stations in between. Working on a few different rock formats has taught me a lot about the music, and this makes Real Rock the perfect station for me.......mixin' it up, some old stuff, some new stuff, some alternative stuff, some hard stuff.
Back to what's important..............me................I am tall. I like to eat. I don't do drugs, sometimes drink in moderation, and used to smoke but quit that years ago. I believe a person can still have fun without being messed up. I am married and I have two kids, a boy and a girl. They are cute, must be because of my good genes. :-) When I am not on the air, I like to fish, hunt, go boating, and I am known to spend a lot of time on the Internet. From time to time you'll catch me at a rock show or two, it's part of the job description.
Top 5 Live Bands: In no particular order......Weezer, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Metallica and Lynyrd Skynyrd. But there are some other groups that are my favorite live bands for other reasons....like one time I was at a Flipp concert in Minneapolis, Minnesota and they threw waffles into the crowd. Trying to end world hunger while performing at a live show definitely deserves mention!
Top 10 Favorite Movies: In no particular order.........American Beauty, Goodfellas, Casino, Private Parts, Back to the Future, National Lampoon‘s Christmas Vacation, Pulp Fiction, Maximum Overdrive, Full Metal Jacket, The Dark Knight.
